What kind of wood is used for this product? Where does the wood come from? What is the specific material of the chessboard?

Wood used:

  • Wenge: From Africa, it is a precious hardwood with high density, wear resistance and pressure resistance, deep and elegant color, natural texture, and is commonly used for collectible wood products.
  • Maple: Common in North America, with light color, uniform texture, and moderate hardness, suitable for light-colored chessboards.

Surface process:
The chessboard surface is a seamless splicing process of solid wood veneer, which is spliced by pressing and splicing the whole piece of wood strips to ensure a real feel and strong durability.
The surface is treated with UV paint coating or PU matte, which has anti-fouling, waterproof and scratch-resistant capabilities, while retaining the original texture of the wood.
Compared with ordinary sellers:
Ordinary sellers mostly use sticker wood grain (such as MDF+veneer paper), which is low cost and easy to warp and fall off.

The board borders have a new style of white capital letters and numbers. What is the difference between the new style and the old one?

  • Our chessboard uses capital white English letters + numbers printed on the four sides of the chessboard. The font is modern geometric, the letters are centered and the proportions are coordinated. The font edge processing is clearer, no smudges, no blurs, UV silk screen printing or inkjet printing process.
  • Most of the old chessboards use small fonts or skewed and asymmetrical fonts, blurred printing, and some are even only implemented with stickers, which are easy to fade after long-term use. Some low-end products do not distinguish between upper and lower boundaries or do not mark coordinates, which does not meet the FIDE international competition standards.
  • The new letter standardization, aesthetics, and durability are higher than the old ones, especially suitable for teaching or formal competitions
