We got this for our family gift exchange this year since the theme was "Game On". We chose to do a selection of classic games mixed with fun modern games. This set was perfect for gifting - it's a great little travel set that they can take with them anywhere and easily rolls up so it can be stored in tighter spaces at home. This was a win!

Great little travel set. Item rolls nicely so it can be closed for travel and comes in nice carrying bag. Pieces fit great in zipper pouch so they won't get lost. Board does fold out easily and doesn't roll back, although not completely flat. As the pieces are not magnetic, does not hold on board well when moving but works great on a solid surface, Love that there are two games in one, simply turn over the pieces for the chess or checkers game. Board flips nicely for backgammon game. All pieces needed are included which makes for a great family travel accessory. The board is well stitched and the material has a velvety/leather feel to it making it higher quality. It makes a great family game addition although I feel that for the item, the price is a little high. Actually seeing, feeling, and using the item, I would debate on paying the price but have no complaints about the item itself.

This is a very well made travel game set. It comes in a velveteen bag to protect it, and includes two game boards and all the pieces and dice you need to play. I think it is perfect for traveling as it not only rolls up small, but also offers multiple game play options.This would make a great gift to a loved one who loves games and traveling or for yourself!

This is a fantastic travel set for backgammon and chess enthusiasts. For those backpackers out there, this weights in at around 272g, and is fairly compact. Would easily fit in most people's daily commute bags or travel/mountain backpacks. The stitching is excellent across the entire board. I doubt there will be any concerns with fraying for quite some time. The pieces themselves are gem-like acrylic, with the brown pieces reminding me of Tiger's Eye and the white pieces having a clamshell like iridescence. The dice match the chess/backgammon pieces and are a good weight. The tube where the pieces are stored is reinforced so make sure it doesn't collapse while rolling the board back up and ensuring that the rolling of the board is easy. The button clasps are solid and will hold up to continuous use. The only drawbacks to the set are that only a single queen is included per side in the chess pieces. An extra would be greatly appreciated, but in a pinch you can use the included dice to count as your queen instead. Would also like for the tolerance on the button straps to be a bit tighter. They're fairly loose right now and I think could be a smidge more secure. Overall very minor complaints that do not detract from the excellent quality of the product overall. A worthwhile investment if you're a fan of either game!

I got this set as part of an effort to minimize and replace two large sets with one small set. The quality is very good, the board components themselves are a vinyl-type material that is stitched onto the fabric. The checkers/chess pieces are a type of plastic that looks like mother-of-pearl, and have the chess designations impressed into one side. The die are a similar material and have a nice weight. The die and checkers/chess pieces are stored in a zippered fabric tube at one side of the board. I was worried the board would stay lifted at the ends from being rolled, but I only had to roll it in the opposite direction once to get it to lie flat. In addition to having two straps that hold the tube shut when rolled up, it also comes with a velvet pouch to store the whole thing, which I thought was overkill. As far as its suitability for traveling, it’s more that it’s easy to take with you, not that your kids can easily play it in the back seat on a long road trip. For that you’d need really good suspension or a magnetic set. But overall, this is a really nice quality set that takes up very little space!

My husband and I have been playing onlinechess games with each other on our mobile phones a lot this year. While we have a lot of fun, the screen viewing is taking a toll on our necks and eyes. This will resolve that issue! This roll-up travel game is wonderful. The craftmanship is spectacular. The playing mat is attached to the zippered tube where you store the gaming pieces. Even the die are beautiful! The gaming mat is smaller than your average checker/chess board, but it is a travel game, and it's not that much smaller. You can play chess, checkers, or backgammon and directions for all of these games comes inside the carrying pouch. The only thing I'd prefer to be different is the carrying pouch. It's made with a dark brown velvet. It's just a personal preference. One, I don't care for the feel of velvet. And, two, it's going to pick up a lot of fuzz and lint if you're traveling with it. A canvas bag would be nice. But, again, that's just my personal tastes. I look forward to enjoying playing this with family at home and when we travel. It rolls up so compact, it won't take up much room at all.

This set includes a double-sided cloth board (chess/checkers board on one side, backgammon on the other) two sets of playing pieces, five dice, game instructions, and a velvet cloth storage bag.The board is about 10x12 inches, including the storage pouch. The pieces are little plastic (I think, I am no expert in materials) discs, with a chess piece icon on one side, and the other side blank for use in backgammon or checkers. The chess piece icons are clear and easy to identify, as are the spaces on the gameboard. The set also includes four 6-sided dice for backgammon, as well as a larger doubling die for that game. The instructions tell you how to play all three games (chess, checkers, backgammon) and are written in English.Please note that this game set is NOT MAGNETIC. The small size and pieces pouch make it great for transporting, easy to take along on a trip, but I would not recommend actually playing it in a moving vehicle. That being said, the leather board spaces grip the playing pieces well enough that you might be able to play it in an airplane or camper so long as it isn't a very bumpy ride.I really have no complaints - all of the pieces are there, it holds up well, and looks nice. Easy to transport, although probably not easy to play while transporting.

This is such a great little travel companion. Our favorite games in one set! We can take it on our day trips to the mountains and play as we picnic. The quality is very good; you have to stretch out the cloth game board a bit because it stays curled a bit which is understandable since it is stored like a jellyroll. It certainly is not problematic, though. It even comes with instructions and tips regarding each game. Absolutely recommend this!
